Long time no post!!!

I have a car in each hand so I am happy!

Thomas playing with his new cars and track

It has been awhile since we have last blogged....lots has been going on. Daddy had to go to Ireland for a week on business. Thomas and I spent a lot of time at Nana and PawPaw's that week, we even spent one night with them. Of course Thomas loved having breakfast with PawPaw and he got to be late for daycare that morning so they could play. Thomas has had an ear infection since the middle of January and we are still trying to get rid it...ugh...he is on his 4th round of antibiotics and if this doesn't work the doctor wants to talk about tubes, so we'll see how he does this week. Thomas is really in to balls and cars...that is all he talks about and wants to play with. We took him to Hot Springs this weekend and he had a ball and traveled so well, we were so proud of him. I have to go to Chicago next week for a National Main Street conference and Robert is going with me so we are looking forward to that. We will miss Thomas like crazy but will enjoy our time together. Thomas will stay with Nana and PawPaw and will probably not even know we are gone...HA! He is getting to where he doesn't want to go home with us, he would rather stay there and play. We heard that Great Granddad got a computer so we will try and post more regulary so he can continue to see Thomas get bigger and bigger.

Me showing off with Granddad Dale

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's. Ours sure was great with Thomas this year, he didn't really get in to all of the Santa and Christmas stuff (except for the bows on the presents) but he sure did love all of us getting together several times and letting him show off to all of us. He is becoming quite the ham if he has an audience. His GG (great granddad) was here for 10 days and we loved spending as much time with him as we possibly could, he even stayed a few days with us so he and Thomas could play late in to the night and first thing in the mornings. I think Thomas missed him once he was gone because when we went to wake him up the morning after GG left he kept looking at the door waiting for him to come in and play. We all enjoyed his visit more than anything. Of course I think GG had the most fun, one nice afternoon he was running down our street pulling Thomas in his wagon...that night he didn't feel so well but he loved it while they were playing. We had Christmas Eve at Nana, Paw Paw and Grammie's house and Thomas got a car that we can push him around in and he loved it. Christmas Day we had GG, Granddad Dale, Grandma Harriette, Nana, Paw Paw and Grammie over for the day. Thomas got a radio flyer rocking horse that he had to help Granddad Dale put together, it makes horse sounds and Thomas could not wait to get on it. We all ate too much and played until Thomas finally conked out on us that afternoon. GG stayed until the 3oth so that gave us several days to continue on with our holiday celebrations. I have attached lots of pictures for you to see and I hope you enjoy them.

Great-Grandad in Town

Great Grandad Thomas just arrived from Oak Ridge, TN Pictures coming soon!!!!

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

OH, I completely forgot that we celebrated Daddy's birthday at the house with cake and ice cream which Thomas has now come to know what a birthday cake is....he gets so excited when he sees one especially with the candles lit....we had one in October for him, one in November for mommy and one in December for Daddy....lots of birthday cake has been eaten in the Hastings household the last three months. Granddad Dale also had a birthday but unfortunately we didn't get to celebrate it with him.

It has been awhile since I have blogged about Thomas...so, here it goes. Lots has been going on...mommy had to go to Charleston, SC for a week for meetings so Daddy and Thomas spent lots of time at Nana's and PawPaw's house. We got our tree up the Sunday after Thanksgiving and Thomas loves it....of course he likes the bows on the presents better. We went to see Santa this weekend and Thomas didn't really like him...he was scared and didn't really warm up to him at all. Oh well, maybe next year. We took some pics in front of our tree for our Christmas cards this past Sunday. We think Thomas likes having his picture made now because he gets so excited when we get the cameras out. Nana and PawPaw were at the house too so that gets him excited anyway. We are almost ready for Christmas and can't wait for GG (Thomas's great grandfather from Oak Ridge who is named after) to get here....he'll fly in on the 20th and be here 20 days....should be lots of fun. I hope to post one more time before Christmas but if I don't, I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

First Haircut!

Sorry it has been while since I have updated the blog but we have had a lot going on that I will share with you now. First thing is that Thomas had his first haircut! YES, he is 13 months old and already needed a haircut, he could have had a ponytail it was so long in the back. We were visiting Granddad Dale and Grandma Harriette on Saturday, November 15th and Daddy asked Grandma to go get her scissors and that is how it all begain. Grandma Harriette came back with her handy dandy scissors and a nice little cape to put around Thomas's neck. Daddy sat him on the kitchen table and got him distracted with a comb and a froggie and away Grandma went cutting his hair. He did great until the end then he started getting a little restless....but overall he was fantastic! Grandma did an AWESOME job considering she was dealing with a moving target! Then we had mommy's birthday and Thomas loved eating the icing on my cake! He liked the tissue paper in my presents too....we had Nana, PawPaw, Grammie, Granddad Dale and Grandma Harriette over for dinner so we all could celebrate. PawPaw Freddy built Thomas a table to go with his chair--he was going to wait until Christmas but wanted Thomas to have it now. Thomas loves it! Well, I think that is about it for now. Tomorrow we will have Thanksgiving at our house so Thomas will enjoy all the family over and love all the attention. Should be a great day because we all have so much to be thankful for this year! (Sorry, I think I have our pictures in the wrong order....)
