Long three weeks!

It has been a long three weeks. The week after Thomas broke his arm he had to have his adenoids removed and tubes put in his ears. The surgery was a success but the recovery has been painful and slow not only for mommy and daddy but especially for Thomas. BUT the cast is off and Thomas is FINALLY starting to feel better, thank goodness.

They gave me a bear and strolled us to the hospital in a wagon...love that!

Our First Crisis!

Crawling has not been a problem!

I love my Daddy!

First picture after we got home on Thursday

Well, we had our first crisis in the Hastings Family last week. Thomas fell off the changing table (going after his stuffed puppy that fell off) and broke his left arm....ugh....we didn't realize he had broken it until our peditrician referred us to Diagnostic Imaging to get it xrayed....and yes, he has a buckle fracture on his left arm right before his wrist. Since it was this kind of break we couldn't tell immediately because he could still move his arm and wrist...when he couldn't hold a hot wheel in his left hand and couldn't crawl on it, we knew something was wrong and off to the doctor's office we go....three doctors later, they were casting it at Campbell Clinic. He is adjusting just fine, doesn't even act like he has a cast on. Trying to get him not to wipe his mouth on it at mealtime has been a challenge but other than that we are good.

Updates

Thomas and Emma at Sicily's

I have been trying to do a new post and Blogger is not acting right this morning so our pictures below and the captions are not right....I'll try and redo later. It has been about a month sinced I have blogged. Robert and I had a great time in Chicago...my conference was great and Robert enjoyed exploring every day while I was in my sessions....we met up everyday for lunch and dinner! Thomas loved staying with Nana and PawPaw...I think he grew an inch and gained a pound while we were gone...HA! We have been back a little over a week and are back in our routine. Thomas has another ear infection in both ears and we are going to see an ENT specialist this week....looks like tubes may be in our near future...I'll keep everyone posted. See the pics below...I have more to add and will try and fix the others too. Oh, we went to Emma's dance recital that was in WM weekend before last...Thomas loved watching all the girls dance...he kept bouncing up and down on may lap dancing and pointing saying "GIRL"...he loves girls!!!

Thomas playing with his new cars and track

It has been awhile since we have last blogged....lots has been going on. Daddy had to go to Ireland for a week on business. Thomas and I spent a lot of time at Nana and PawPaw's that week, we even spent one night with them. Of course Thomas loved having breakfast with PawPaw and he got to be late for daycare that morning so they could play. Thomas has had an ear infection since the middle of January and we are still trying to get rid it...ugh...he is on his 4th round of antibiotics and if this doesn't work the doctor wants to talk about tubes, so we'll see how he does this week. Thomas is really in to balls and cars...that is all he talks about and wants to play with. We took him to Hot Springs this weekend and he had a ball and traveled so well, we were so proud of him. I have to go to Chicago next week for a National Main Street conference and Robert is going with me so we are looking forward to that. We will miss Thomas like crazy but will enjoy our time together. Thomas will stay with Nana and PawPaw and will probably not even know we are gone...HA! He is getting to where he doesn't want to go home with us, he would rather stay there and play. We heard that Great Granddad got a computer so we will try and post more regulary so he can continue to see Thomas get bigger and bigger.

Me showing off with Granddad Dale

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's. Ours sure was great with Thomas this year, he didn't really get in to all of the Santa and Christmas stuff (except for the bows on the presents) but he sure did love all of us getting together several times and letting him show off to all of us. He is becoming quite the ham if he has an audience. His GG (great granddad) was here for 10 days and we loved spending as much time with him as we possibly could, he even stayed a few days with us so he and Thomas could play late in to the night and first thing in the mornings. I think Thomas missed him once he was gone because when we went to wake him up the morning after GG left he kept looking at the door waiting for him to come in and play. We all enjoyed his visit more than anything. Of course I think GG had the most fun, one nice afternoon he was running down our street pulling Thomas in his wagon...that night he didn't feel so well but he loved it while they were playing. We had Christmas Eve at Nana, Paw Paw and Grammie's house and Thomas got a car that we can push him around in and he loved it. Christmas Day we had GG, Granddad Dale, Grandma Harriette, Nana, Paw Paw and Grammie over for the day. Thomas got a radio flyer rocking horse that he had to help Granddad Dale put together, it makes horse sounds and Thomas could not wait to get on it. We all ate too much and played until Thomas finally conked out on us that afternoon. GG stayed until the 3oth so that gave us several days to continue on with our holiday celebrations. I have attached lots of pictures for you to see and I hope you enjoy them.
